The state of Ohio and the federal government offer a variety of incentives to help employers with their hiring needs.
Current state programs include:
On-the-Job Training Ohio’s OJT program provides an incentive to hire dislocated workers (workers who are currently on unemployment or have exhausted their unemployment benefits) and also underemployed individuals. The On-the-Job Training Grant provides a partial wage subsidy to the employer during the new hires' training period. Work Opportunity Tax Credit The Work Opportunity Tax Credit programprovides Ohio employers with a federal tax credit when they hire individuals from 11 target groups of disadvantaged job seekers.
